Yoni steaming also known as vaginal steaming is a gentle, seated herbal steam that allows warmth and healing properties of soothing and medicinal herbs to permeate the exterior of the vagina and perineum. Herbal “V” Steams are an ancient self-care therapy commonly practiced in Korea and Central + South America for centuries; handed down by midwives, traditional healers, and wise women to support women’s overall health by caring for the womb.
The treatments are used to cleanse and revitalize the uterus, effectively reducing discomfort associated with menstruation, helping with fertility and relieving the discomforts of menopause.

Raspberry Leaf - Is useful for vaginal dryness and overall health. Red raspberry is a for women post-partum to restore balance and health to the reproductive organs.
Yarrow Leaf - Astringent, tonifying and cleansing, yarrow is great for regulating menstrual flow, ovarian cysts and supporting overall uterine health.
Chamomile - Relaxing and uplifting herb. It calms the mind and body. Chamomile works well for wound healing and skin irritations.
Lavender - One of the most relaxing herbs, calms the mind and body. It is nourishing to the nervous system and is an antiseptic to the vaginal tissues. It is also an antispasmodic, aiding in healthy uterine function.
Oregano - Used to bring on menses. Increases scanty flow. This herb is used for its antiseptic, stimulating and strengthening qualities. Oregano is a wonderful herb for aiding in prevention of infection.
Wormwood - Cleanses the uterus, helps to clear bacterial vaginosis
Basil - An antispasmodic; really good for menstrual cramps. Tonic and strengthening.
Mugwort - Fights infection through its antimicrobial and antifungal properties, balances female hormones and stimulates the production of hormones that help to maintain uterine health. Can help aid the uterus from abnormalities such as ulcers and tumors. Also helps to stimulate menstrual discharge and ease cramping.
Calendula - Used to induce perspiration and cleansing of the vaginal tissues. It is also healing to wounds. Calendula officinalis aids in the healing of tight scarred tissues of the labia and perineum due to episiotomy, or vaginal tear. Note: Do not steam an open wound, this could cause pain and swelling.
Rose Petals - Rose petals are gentle and astringent to tissues of the genitals. Rose is a relaxing and uplifting herb.
Rosemary - Increases circulation to the reproductive organs, aids in clearing out old fluids, is antiseptic and purifying.

Thieves - antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious antiparasitic, strong antiseptic, purifier
Lemon - antiseptic, antifungal, antioxidant
Add 2 cups of water and put 2 tablespoons of the steam in a pot, mix it so that all the herbs are covered in water, bring to a boil.
Turn off the water and cover for 2 minutes to allow the herbs to steep.
Let the water cool for apx. 7-10 min.
Grab a towel, uncover the pot and squat over it, or raise the toilet seat and cover with the yoni seat, place the water and herbs in the yoni seat and sit down gently, making sure the towel covers your lower body and the pot/seat, preventing the steam from escaping.
VERY IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE USING THE YONI SEAT, IT MIGHT NOT FIT PERFECTLY OVER EVERY TOILET BOWL. RAISE THE TOILET SEAT AND PLACE SEAT ON TOILET BOWL, SIT DOWN GENTLY! IF THE STEAM IS TOO HOT, LET COOL FOR A COUPLE MINUTES UNTIL YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE, BUT MAKING SURE IT'S NOT TOO COOL THAT IT DOESN'T STEAM. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE TOO MUCH WATER OR IT WILL RISE UP AND BURN YOU! TWO CUPS OR LESS IS ALL YOU NEED.
Sit for 15-20 minutes, depending on how long the steam lasts. Once finished, poor herb water down the toilet or use it as compost outside.
Use once a week for the best results or after every cycle.
When NOT to do Vaginal Steams:
Never do a vaginal steam when you’re pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
If you have genital piercings, you must remove the jewelry first, otherwise the metal will heat up and may cause burns.
Avoid steams with a herpes outbreak (or other open sores) since herpes is a damp heat condition.
Extremely heavy menstrual cycles, *do not do during your period.
Vaginal infection, open wounds, sores, or blisters.
